The NAN Compass is an all new 4.78 meter span composite electric-launched high performance glider for extreme thermal flying and GPS triangle racing in the FAI Sport class.

The Compass features an advanced 4 piece wing and a 2 piece fuselage so it can be transported easily by car or airplane making it the most compact GPS sport class on the market. The carbon wing has 4 ailerons and 2 flaps making it a 6 servo wing for maximum flexibility/control of the airfoil. Ballast "two tubes" is carried in the center section of the wings to get to the max allowable wing loading. One ballast tube forward of CG, one ballast tube aft CG for complete control over your setup.

The 2 piece fuselage is self-aligning with the rudder and elevator servos mounted on a tray in the rear boom. The stab and rudder are removable via Nan's proprietary locking system, and are securely attached to the fuselage. No tools required for stabilizer connection, or linkage! The fuse from the trailing edge of the wing forward, is all fiberglass so placing your 2.4mHz receiver and GPS telemetry equipment is free from any carbon interference for better telemetry downlinks and reception.

The Compass has the room for a variety of power systems and batteries, but we recommend this set up which will yield about 1500 watts and a decent climb rate at a max wing loading: The Neu Powerline in-runner mated to a YGE ESC spinning a GM 17x13 folding prop mounted to a GM 36mmx6mm spinner. For the motor battery, a high C rated 4s 3700mah or larger capacity will be required.
